Academies chartered by RESA have missions to serve a student population in ways not found in the traditional public school district.

The academies are provided oversight through the Chief Administrative Officer and the Academy Business Office. Directors for each academy manage the day-to-day operations.

College readiness academy chartered by RESA:

Blue Water Middle College

The Blue Water Middle College Academy enrolls incoming 11th graders from participating county high schools. It offers an opportunity for students to earn a high school diploma and no-cost college credit through St. Clair County Community College.

Alternative education academy chartered by RESA:

Provides alternative online learning for students ages 16–19 who have voluntarily stopped attending school for more than 30 days, and expelled students in grades 9–12.

The academy provides educational opportunities to court adjudicated youth ages 12-19. The Academy is located in the Day Treatment/Night Watch Facility.  It is authorized by the Port Huron School District.
