Who's eligible to enroll in the Virtual Learning Academy?

  • Students ages 16-19 who have voluntarily stopped attending school for more than 30 days.
  • Expelled students in grades 9-12.
  • Currently resides in St. Clair County.


The Virtual Learning Academy is free to eligible students.



Virtual Learning Academy students must commit to spend a

minimum of 30 hours a week on their school work. Each

student has a personalized academic plan that determines

the amount of time a student works onsite or from home.



Steps to Take 


Step 1:

  • You will be contacted informing you of your eligibility for our school.  
  • If eligible, you will be asked to attend an informational meeting about our school.

Step 3:

  • You and a parent or guardian will be invited to attend a commitment meeting.

Step 4:

  • You will be assigned to an orientation class.
  • After the orientation class is completed, you and your parent will meet with VLA staff about our equipment lending agreement.
