Regional HOSA 2015 Leadership Conference
Saturday, February 7, TEC Health Instructors Ms. McClure & Mrs. Miller took 11students to the HOSA Regional Leadership Conference that took place at Fraser High School. Ten students placed in the top ten and two received medals. The two medal winners will advance to the State Leadership Conference on April 16 & 17 in Traverse City along with 1200 other health students from all across Michigan.

State HOSA 2014 Leadership Conference

The State HOSA Leadership Conference was held April 24-25, 2014 in Traverse City.
There were 2000 other health students from all over Michigan that competed in 57 events.
TEC Health Instructors and HOSA advisors Mrs. Biga, Ms. McClure & Mrs. Miller took four students that were Regional medal winners in February. These students spent many hours after school practicing and we are very proud of them! They placed in the top eight in this state of Michigan competition.

February 9, all 24 St. Clair TEC Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) that participated in the Regional Leadership Conference at Fraser High School either earned a medal or placed in the top 10. More than 750 students from the region competed in a variety of events.

Lindsey Weiland- 2011 HOSA National Competition
One health student represented St. Clair TEC at the National HOSA competition that was held June 21- 26, 2011 in Anaheim, California.
Lindsey Weiland, from St. Clair, placed 2nd in the nation: winning the silver medal in the Nurse Aide competition.
The student was accompanied on the trip by TEC Health Instructor Marilee McClure.

TEC students rock at HOSA State Conference
" Hidee-ho, goin' all the way, gonna rock the world the HOSA way...."
Six St. Clair TEC Health Nurse Aide students yelled this cheer along with about 1600 other high school and post high school students enrolled in Health Occupation Education programs from all over Michigan this past weekend (April 15 - 16, 2010) in Traverse City.
HOSA is a student organization for students interested in pursuing a health care profession.
It was founded in 1976 and Michigan became a charter member in 1980.
St. Clair TEC's Health Career Academy was represented by the following students:
Brittany Beaudin- 11th grade, Port Huron High School
Carissa Boucher- 11th grade, St. Clair High School
Danielle Lipa- 12th grade, Algonac High School
Alicia Meldrum- 12th grade, Marine City High School
NaTasha Potvin- 11th grade, Marine City High School
Emily Vantiem- 11th grade, St. Clair High School
All students represented themselves and St. Clair County in a fine professional manner as they competed in their events. Carissa Boucher was a finalist in Medical Assisting and Danielle Lipa was a finalist in Nursing Assisting. This means they are in the top 8 in the state.
The students were under the leadership of their Advisor Mrs. Deborah L. Biga, RN/Instructor along with Health Academy Instructional Technician, Ms. Beverly J. Walker, LPN.

St. Clair TEC's chapter of Michigan HOSA, traveled to Macomb County Community College in Clinton Township on Saturday January 30, 2010 to proudly compete alongside over 400 other Health Occupation students in Region Four at the Leadership Conference. Region Four consists of a combination of 18 High Schools and Career & Technical Education centers from Oakland, Macomb and St. Clair counties.

All finalists are eligible to travel to Traverse City in April for the HOSA state Conference and medal winners there will have the opportunity to compete at the National level this summer in Orlando.
