Your Future in Cosmetology

Cosmetology is for students who love working with hair, enjoy working with people, and have an artistic flair. Students who successfully complete the Cosmetology program take the state examination and become licensed cosmetologists.

The Cosmetology program offers training at TEC both in the classroom and clinical setting. Senior cosmetology students apply their skills in the clinical setting which operates as a full-service salon open to the public.

Students practice on mannequins in the training lab. After 350 hours in the classroom and lab, students are approved for advanced training on the clinical floor working on customers.

NOTE: This state-certified program mandates 1,500 hours of attendance. Students are responsible for their transportation during the summer and throughout their senior year. All students must enter this program as high school juniors.
