KnowHow2Go partnership gains momentum

KnowHow2Go partners including high school counselors throughout St. Clair County, RESA employees and St. Clair County Community College staff participated in a financial aid workshop at SC4. The workshop, sponsored by the Michigan Department of Education, featured a presentation by Brandy Johnson, director of the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN). Johnson talked about the “great things happening in St. Clair County” and recognized the KnowHow2Go partnership. Gale Simon, RESA higher education consultant, said attending workshops is one of several ways KnowHow2Go members keep up-to-date with the resources available throughout the state to parents and students. “The KnowHow2Go partnership continues to get stronger as we work together to create a college going culture in our county,” Simon said.

Scholarship for NCAN Attendance

The Walmart Foundation provided a scholarship for Cathy Busdicker, Parent Liaison of St. Clair County KnowHow2GO to cover registration fees and up to $150 travel expenses for the NCAN (National College Access Network) 16th annual conference. The conference will be held September 12-14, 2011, St. Louis, MO.

Both NCAN and St. Clair County KnowHow2GO are very grateful to the Walmart Foundation for this special opportunity to help more college success and access professionals join their colleagues at this annual exchange of ideas, information, and inspiration.
