Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

The PAC represents the St. Clair County RESA and local school districts as parents of children receiving special education services in St. Clair County.

 

PAC members are recommended by their local school board to the St. Clair County RESA Board of Education. PAC members stay informed of plans, changes and trends in special education in St. Clair County and Michigan. They also participate in the state monitoring process of delivery of special education services.

 

Issues that have recently been of interest to the PAC include:

  • Parent empowerment
  • Least restrictive environment
  • School funding
  • Transportation
  • IDEA
  • CIMS
  • Collaborations among agencies
  • State mandates
  • School discipline

Meetings are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. All parents are encouraged to attend a meeting. Those planning to attend are asked to call (810) 455-4040 to confirm because meetings can be canceled due to school closings or inclement weather.

 

Each committee member represents a school district. PAC meetings are Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m.–noon at the St. Clair County RESA campus, 499 Range Road, Marysville.

  • Nov. 8, 2011 – East Conference Room
  • Jan. 10, 2012 – East Conference Room
  • Feb. 14, 2012 – East Conference Room
