RESA offers beginning driver training and Commercial Driver License (CDL) training to prospective bus drivers.

Beginning school bus driver training 

Persons interested in earning bus driver certification may complete the required 18 hours of instruction through RESA. Beginning driver training is held every 90 days. Classes are conducted from 7 a.m to 1 p.m. daily without a lunch break.


Three-day classes:

2016 DATES

  • August 23, 24, and 25
  • October 17, 18 and 19
  • December 13, 14, 15 

2017 DATES

  • March 7, 8 and 9
  • June 13, 14, and 15

Continuing education training 

The RESA also offers ongoing training to bus drivers to maintain their certifications every two years. Drivers need six hours of training to retain certification. Classes are conducted from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Supervisor training

RESA offers training for transportation supervisors every two years. There are no classes sscheduled at this time.
