College Board is a highly recommended site for students, parents and educators. This site has information on just about nearly every topic you can imagine related to the college-going process: college search by major, size and location, financial aid, scholarships,SAT testing, application calendars, guidebooks and more. There are forums where parents and students can access information, opinion and ideas from other families.

 

University Parent Connection

University Parent offers insights to parents of current and future college students. There are articles on popular university parent topics such as Common Ailments and Illesses for College Students and Beyond Tuition: Managing College Expenses.

 

College Crunch

College Crunch features college reviews and profiles, tips for navigating the logistics of college financing and career planning advice. The career planning advice includes lists of salaries by career.

 

My College Calendar

My College Calendar helps students organize their college applications. Students select the names of the colleges to which they are applying, then My College Calendar creates a color-coded calendar with important due dates for the application procedure at each college.

 

Ask About College

Ask About College is a service designed to answer the questions that students might have when applying to a particular college or university. Ask About College provides not only pre-selected questions and responses, it also provides unique responses to a student's unique questions.

 

The U

The U is a college campus review for prospective students created by current students. This site has quite a bit of information about campus life, especially on topics that are important to prospective students—provided by current students.

 

College Grazing

College Grazing has a large collection of interest surveys designed to help students think about why they want to go to college, the type of college that matches their interests and the types of college programs they might be best suited pursuing.

 

College Confidential

College Confidential is a clearinghouse of information on the college-going process.  Like many of the other sites listed here, College Confidential offers resources on the application process, financial aid, college guides, colleges by program, size, and location, etc.

 

Michigan Post-secondary Handbook

The Michigan Post-secondary Handbook is a valuable resource for those researching college and university options in the state of Michigan. The handbook features admissions contacts, program information, current tuition and other costs for all two- and four-year colleges and universities in Michigan, as well as other institutions of higher education such as FOCUS:Hope.
