Common Calendar
Michigan Law (Public Act 101 of 2007) required as of July 1, 2008, that the St. Clair County RESA establish a common school calendar for use by its constituent districts and the RESA.
The "common calendar":
- Establishes the winter and spring breaks when school will not be in session;
- Sets those two breaks for the next 5-years.
With input from the local school district superintendents, a common calendar is approved by the St. Clair County RESA Board of Education. In addition to setting the common required breaks, recommendations are also included regarding non-student days such as mid-winter break, Thanksgiving break, etc.
Based on individual needs, local districts may add additional non-student days to the calendar or may deviate from the recommendations, WITH the exception of winter and spring break.
5-Year Common Calendar Schedule
Please note: Some districts seek a waiver to modify their calendar. It is always best to check with your local district to determine their calendar.
