The Department of Early Childhood Services coordinates a number of services for the families of children ages 0-5. The Department also can refer families to additional resources, depending on each family's unique needs.

Early On: Answering questions about your child's development
Early On is Michigan's system of coordinating early intervention services for children birth to age 3 who may have a developmental delay or a medical condition that could lead to delay.

Great Start Home Visiting and Early Learning Groups
Great Start Home Visiting has four FREE centers for St. Clair County families of children ages 0-5. Families can get information on home visits with a parent educator, lending library, developmental milestones and screenings, parenting tips, family resources and Early Learning Groups.

Great Start Parent Coalition
The Parent Coalition works to raise awareness and support for early childhood programming in the community. They give parents who are passionate about young child issues a way to volunteer in their own communities.

Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Preschool: Helping your child be ready for kindergarten
GSRP is Michigan's state-funded preschool program for four-year-old children with factors that may place them at risk. The goal of the program is designed to ensure every child is prepared to thrive when they enter kindergarten. The program is based on learning through play. It is free to eligible families.
