This document was developed to support students’ success on the SAT, and to build the literacy skills that students need for career and college readiness. It is also part of a larger list of curated SAT resources focusing on the evidence-based Reading and Writing and Essay portions of the test and can be accessed online by visiting MAISA Curated Reading/Writing SAT resources.
As standards are being reviewed, there is an emphasizes on developing career and college ready skills and disciplinary learning. These practices include reasoning and arguing using evidence, critiquing another’s argument, making one’s thinking public, interpreting complex text, and participating in and supporting a culture of talk.
