Homeschool Programs and Registration

Enrich your child’s knowledge and connection with the natural world. An environmental educator will lead indoor and outdoor hands-on activities to help students throughly understand nature concepts. These programs provide an excellent opportunity to get outside, meet other homeschool families and supplement your at-home lessons!

Animal Adaptations for 1st-3rd Grades
Tuesday, March 7, 2023

10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Cost:  $5 per student
Students will use mammal and bird taxidermy mounts to identify physical features and how they help animals survive.  Participants will hike the nature center’s trails in search of animals and clues that they have been here.  Bring a water bottle and dress for the weather.

Animal Adaptations for 4th-7th Grades
Thursday, March 9, 2023

12 – 2 p.m.
Cost:  $5 per student
Students will use mammal and bird taxidermy mounts to identify physical features and how they help animals survive.  Participants will  focus on map reading skills while navigating through the nature center’s trails and solving clues related to animal adaptations along the way. Bring a water bottle and dress for the weather.
