Child Care Information and Preschool Programs

Families can get help finding quality child care, preschool, and early childhood education in their area. 

A number of FREE and low-cost preschool programs for 0-5 year olds in St. Clair County are available including child care, home visiting, and preschool.

Assistance with Child Care Costs

St. Clair County RESA has been selected as a MI Tri-Share Child Care pilot program grant recipient. Tri-Share is an innovative program designed to improve access to affordable, quality child care by sharing the cost between the employee, the employer, and the state of Michigan.

Developmental Delays (ages 0–26)

Early On is Michigan's system of coordinating early intervention services for children from birth to their 3rd birthday who may have a developmental delay or a medical condition that could lead to delay.

Project Find offers services to children and youth from age 3 to their 26th birthday who may have a physical, social, emotional, communication, and/or cognitive development delay. 

 

 


Home Visiting/Early Learning Groups

Trained parent educators provide individualized support to pregnant women and families of young children. They can help you be the best parent you can be through every stage of your baby’s development, so your child is ready to succeed in school and in life.

Free book program (ages 0–5)

Imagination Library is a free program that provides registered children a new book each month from the month of birth until their fifth birthday.
