St. Clair County RESA’s Career and Technical Education Center (St. Clair TEC) has received a generous donation of tools and personal protection equipment totaling more than $7,800 from the local Marshall E. Campbell Company and industry partners.
Before the donation, a Marshall E. Campbell representative visited TEC and toured the Construction Trades program’s tool crib with instructor Ken Sygit to assess program needs. Based on that visit, the company provided a variety of high-quality tools and equipment.
On September 10, Marshall E. Campbell employees Jerry McCabe, Purchasing Manager; Kimberly Woolman, HR/Quality Manager; Mike Repinski, Branch Manager; and Jesse Williams, Assistant Warehouse Manager, delivered $7,375 worth of high-quality tools and PPE to TEC, along with Scott Schillag, Industrial Account Manager for Stanley Black & Decker. On hand to receive the donation were Lesley Murphy, CTE Director Principal; Ken Sygit, Construction Trades Instructor; and Caleb Howell, Construction Trades Paraprofessional.
The initial donation included a variety of tools, including a saw, impact drill, sawhorses, hand tools, gloves, and safety supplies. The following day, an additional $500 donation of tools and PPE was made possible through Milwaukee Tool, coordinated by Josh Richardson. Special thanks are also extended to MCR Safety’s Terry Reed, who helped make the PPE donation possible. These contributions further expand the resources available to TEC students.
“We are so grateful to Marshall E. Campbell and their industry partners for supporting our students,” said Murphy. “These tools will give our Construction Trades students access to the same professional-grade equipment they’ll use in the workforce. Partnerships like these make a strong and lasting impact on student learning and career readiness.”
While the donation was made directly to the Construction Trades program, the impact will be felt across TEC programs, as students often share and borrow tools and resources between classrooms.
