August 11 is 811 Day — an annual reminder that safe digging starts with a call to MISS DIG 811. RESA maintains fiber connections that support essential technology and communications services throughout the county. When contractors submit MISS DIG 811 requests near our underground fiber, a RESA staff member helps identify and mark its location, helping protect critical infrastructure.

Whether you're installing a mailbox, planting trees, replacing a driveway, or managing a large excavation project, contacting MISS DIG 811 should be part of every job. Celebrate 8/11 Day by making safe digging a habit all year long. Learn more at https://missdig811.org/

Dafer digging starts here."

🎒 Digital Diet Summer Tip: Screen-free moments help children get ready for school.

Children learn a lot through simple, everyday moments. Waiting in line, getting dressed, playing outside, helping at home, and reading together all help children practice skills they will use in kindergarten.

Screen-free moments give children more chances to practice:
Waiting
Taking turns
Listening
Following directions
Calming their body
Trying again
Solving problems

Try one simple idea today:
“First shoes, then outside.”
“Can you bring me your shoes and coat?”
“Let’s take five deep breaths together.”
“What can we do while we wait?”
“What else could we try?”

Kindergarten readiness can grow through play, routines, and time together.

🍪 Digital Diet Summer Tip: Try a screen-free Snack Break!

Need a quick reset this summer? Try a Snack Break. A Snack Break is a short screen-free activity your family can do together. It does not need to be fancy. Five to ten minutes counts.

Try one today:
• Take a walk
• Have a dance party
• Hop like a frog
• Draw or color together
• Tell a silly family story
• Play pretend
• Clean up one small space while one song plays
• Look at a book and make up your own story

These little breaks give children a chance to move, talk, imagine, listen, and connect. Sometimes the best reset is a few minutes together!
