Woodland Developmental Center teacher Angela Jackson has been named a 2026-27 Region 5 Teacher of the Year by the Michigan Department of Education. This recognition places her among the top 10 finalists for the Michigan Teacher of the Year award, which will be announced this spring. Angela has taught at Woodland for nine years. In her classroom, Room 101, she creates an environment where every child feels valued, encouraged, and supported. Angela said being nominated by a parent makes the recognition especially meaningful. Meet Daniel Rosenow, a first-year TEC student from Memphis High School. Daniel is in the Construction Trades program at St. Clair County TEC. This program offers students hands-on training in carpentry, electrical work, exterior finishes, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and more. After a year of learning in the classroom, second-year students in the construction trades program take their skills into the real world with internships and work-based learning opportunities, ensuring that students graduate ready to enter the workforce or continue their education in skilled trades.
